Tottenham Court Road Station Refurbishment - "Please thank your team for all their hard work, getting us the beams on the right days."

Laing O'Rourke Heathrow MSCP East Project Newsletter Issue No5 March 2012 -
"Explore Manufacturing had to tender some of the elevated ramp beams due to a technical hitch with their beam manufacturing facility. Due to this the elevated ramp beams are now being supplied by Macrete Ireland Ltd. Other suppliers could not match the standard of quality required by the MSCP East project. Macrete, although initially nervous about achieving the high standard, were however willing to work with the project team to achieve it. A succession of meetings at their plant took place where all matters were discussed and the collective project team sent personnel over to assist and direct with regard to the MSCP East project requirements.
All involved have to be commended for the herculean effort made to turn this problem around in a very short space of time, and to have produced edge beams to the required high standards - edge beams for this type of structure are not normally produced to such standards as they are seen as functional in the first instance and to be aesthetically pleasing in the second.
Laing O'Rourke, BAA, Buro Happold, Explore Manufacturing and Macrete Ireland Ltd have truly worked in a collaborative manner to achieve a positive outcome for the project."

"The Sir Thomas Fairfax Bridge "The arch rings and spandrel units for Sir Thomas Fairfax Bridge represented highly challenging elements of pre-cast concrete to construct owing to their large size, skew and architectural detail. The challenge was met by an enthusiastic and professional approach from Macrete who we found to be constructive with ideas, paid good attention to detail and produced a high quality product. Also, they made a splendid job of shipping huge pieces of concrete! Macrete played a key role in the success of this project, - which can be measured by the prestigious awards it has received." "

Andy Dalrymple, Contracts Director, Mackenzie -
"Macrete Ireland Ltd supplied and delivered to our site at Moorfield, near Kilmarnock in South West Scotland 157 No pre-cast concrete culvert units 4.2m wide x 1.2m high x 1.3m long weighing 13 tonnes each. The units were used to form a foul attenuation tank for sewerage effluent storage in storm conditions to allow future development of the surrounding area. Installation of the units was problem free and due mainly to the high standards of workmanship associated with the manufacture of the units and with specific reference to the high level of tolerances achieved. The above has resulted in Macrete Ireland Ltd becoming our preferred supplier for precast concrete units for future projects. "

Derek Smalley, Site Agent John Martin Construction -
"The 200 plus edge restraint units for Widford Viaduct in Chelmsford, represented highly challenging elements of pre-cast concrete construction owing to the varying base slopes, end angles, sizes and exposed aggregate detail on every panel that were required to line up on the completed job. Despite problems with the tender drawing issued, Macrete and the Nuttall John Martin team worked closely together to produce a viable solution. The Macrete input was always realistic, professional and enthusiastic and in excess of what could generally be expected to be offered. The finished product which required over 25 lorries loads to be mobilised (spread over a predetermined period) were delivered to the requirements of the programme and the high quality end product was well received by the client. The installed position of the supplied units is on full display and forms a large part of the visual aspect of the contract, any problems would have been there for all to see, but the units are a credit to Macrete. "Rhosog Fawr & Wentloog Culverts - Cardiff. "Thanks for all your efforts and supplying on time to enable us to carry out these works over the Christmas period. It is very much appreciated by ourselves and Network Rail.""

Guy Everitt, Agent for Carillion Infrastructure -
"I am pleased to report that Stokesay UB was successfully reconstructed this weekend. Everyone was impressed by the quality of the match casting on the units: the delivery of the units on 3/4th June was also well co-ordinated with staggered deliveries. Well done!"

Mike Condren, Contracts Manager, May Gurney -
"Eaglescliffe Contract - "The components went together very well and the client commented on the accuracy and finish of the units. Thanks for your assistance during these works, with the installation of the Aerofil 2 and Temporary Works sockets, the units also completed in time and within specification. The temporary works really speeded up the erection giving perfect gaps throughout the structure with minimal hook time - we achieved around 20 minutes a unit for the erection.""

E. Foley - Head of Engineering, Merthyr Tydfil CBC -
"Taf River Corridor Improvements - Flexi Arch Bridge system - "I write to express my appreciation of the role Macrete played in the design and construction of this structure. The procurement, delivery and erection of the pre-cast units was extremely efficient. The shell created allowed cladding in natural stone to proceed very soon after erection and the structure is now nearing completion." "

Alistair Morley - Site Agent, BAM Nuttall Ltd - Fore Street, Teignmouth.
"Thank you for all your assistance and patience over the last few months. We had some very late design changes and still acheived our vital delivery deadline target. The service provided by Macrete Ireland Ltd has been exceptional, especially with very technically demanding bearing recesses. Our Client Network Rail has noted and praised the finish and quality of the precast concrete"
